Keywords

Generally refers to any word or phrase the user might search for in order to find your Web site or a page on your site. Each variation of a keyword, such as the plural form of the word, is treated like a separate keyword.

Key Phrases

Refers to a string of keywords and is generally used interchangeably with the term keywords. Most potential clients use key phrases to search for a product or service

e.g. the use of a phrase such as

lodgings Bexley London

is much more likely to find relevant sites than if the single keyword

lodgings

is used, which will list any sites which have the word lodgings associated with it from anywhere in the world!
